The Calcasieu Workforce Center (CWC) will host its 9th Annual Youth Summit/Job Fair, 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017, on the second and third floors of the Lake Charles Civic Center, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive, Lake Charles, LA.
The purpose of the Youth Summit/Job Fair is to connect youth to the necessary employers, resources, and post-secondary education/training intuitions to help them prepare for and obtain gainful employment in emerging industrial occupations. The theme is: "Paths to Success: You’ve Got This!" Youth participating in this free event will experience a selection of workshops addressing work readiness and high demand occupations in Southwest Louisiana. The targeted population is youth, ages 16 to 24. Various local employers will be present to interview and accept applications for full-time, part-time, and summer employment. Representatives from McNeese State University, SOWELA Technical Community College, and other state colleges and universities will be present to answer questions concerning specific curricula that will qualify them for jobs in high demand occupations.
The youth of Southwest Louisiana are encouraged to attend the 2017 Youth Summit/Job Fair. Individuals may preregister at www.cppj.net/youthsummit. Participants are encouraged to wear interview clothes; bring copies of their resume(s), a smile, and a great attitude.
