Human Services

Mission:

The mission of the Human Services Department is to implement and deliver an array of services through its various offices, initiatives and collaborative networks in accordance with community needs. The organizational structure for the Human Services Departments includes the following parish departments: the Human Services Programs, the American Job Center (AJC), Workforce Development Board (WDB) and the Housing Department.

In addition, the Human Services Department is also responsible for establishing and/or continuing formal relationships with other providers in our community in areas such as public health, behavioral health, and long-term disaster recovery.

2024-2026 Directory of Services

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury's Human Services Department offers an array of community services through its various offices, initiatives and collaborative networks. The Human Services Department is organized into one administrative unit and five programmatic areas:

  • Administrative and Fiscal Services
  • Community Outreach and Auxiliary Services
  • Community Services and Economic Support Programs
  • Community Health Initiatives and Strategic Partnerships
  • Housing and Community Development Programs
  • Workforce Development and Employment Services

All of these areas work in concert with one another to coordinate quality services and programs that empower individuals, businesses and community stakeholders in promoting self-sufficiency and economic development with their respective funding sources.
