TITLE VI   

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury (Parish) adheres to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 which states “no person in the United States shall, on the ground of race, color, or national origin, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance” (42 U.S.C. Section 2000d).

MAKING A TITLE VI COMPLAINT

Any person who believes they have been subjected to discrimination under Title VI in the delivery of or access to any program, activity, or service may file a complaint with the Parish or the U.S. Department of Treasury.  Complaints must be filed in writing and signed no later than 180 days after the alleged discriminatory act. A complaint form is available upon request.
