Police Jury Hears Presentation of Proposed Strategic Plan for 2025-2029

At the Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 regular meeting, the Police Jury heard a presentation of the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Strategic Plan for 2025-2029.

Parish Administrator Bryan Beam presented the proposed plan. He summarized a list of six priority areas in the plan that will serve as a set of targeted goals and key initiatives designed to drive progress over the next five years.

The priorities:

  • Achieve long-term solutions for special service district demands.
  • Maintain excellence in communication, customer service, and community engagement.
  • Achieve long-term fiscal sustainability.
  • Enhance parish parks, recreation, and quality of life.
  • Sustainably build and maintain parishwide drainage, roads/bridges, and utility infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain the workforce of the future.

In early 2024, the CPPJ began developing a new strategic plan with a shifted focus beyond recovery toward a vibrant, more positive future focused on resilience and building on existing foundations.

This is a “living plan” -- the six strategic priorities will remain in place for the five-year period, but new strategic goals and/or initiatives may be advanced based on changing dynamics.

The full Police Jury will vote on the proposed plan at its Thursday, Nov. 21 meeting.
