The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury (Parish) adheres to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. 2000(d) and Executive Order 13166 which provide for eligible Limited English Proficiency persons to have meaningful access to Parish services, programs, and activities. Following Federal guidance, the Parish’s Language Access Plan outlines the reasonable steps taken to ensure meaningful access.

Services

Interpreters: Free interpretation services are available whether the customer is in person or over the phone. Appointments are strongly recommended to ensure the most efficient service experience. “I Speak” cards are available on site at Parish facilities to help identify the primary language needed.

Translations: Translations of vital documents, or their short descriptions, may be provided in Spanish only and are free.

Public Meetings: Language Assistance Services are available upon request for free. Public Notices may require the request to be made by a set deadline prior to the meeting.
