Find out what happens when the clueless and accident-prone Ernest P. Worrell takes a job as a fix-it man at a summer camp for troubled boys in the 1987 classic “Ernest Goes to Camp.” This juvenile slapstick comedy chronicles Ernest’s campaign to get promoted to camp counselor. Along the way, he ends up causing all kinds of comical chaos but in the end, he winds up helping many of the campers (Rated PG).

The show starts at sundown - close to 8 p.m. - but get there early to get a good seat.

Residents are also encouraged to take selfies at the events and post them to the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Facebook Page or on Twitter.

This Movies Under the Stars presentation is a part of July's Parks and Recreation month celebration. The theme - “Get Your Play on” – is a reminder to residents of the importance of play and exercise and how much local parks have to offer the community.

In addition, the National Recreation and Park Association is celebrating the month by hosting a weekly contest encouraging people to show them why play is so important in their lives. Visit www.nrpa.org/July for more information on how to participate. Entries can be submitted via the hashtag #NRPAPlayChallenge. NRPA also encourages all people that support parks and recreation to share why they think play is so important with the hashtag #PlayOnJuly.
