The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, to celebrate the reopening of Alligator Park, 5316 Alligator Park Road, Starks.
The park was damaged in the March 2015 flooding and has been closed since that time. It was set to reopen in August 2016, but was again damaged by flooding caused by Tropical Storm Harvey.
Located off LA 109, the park has a new, climate-controlled pavilion; a new fishing pier; RV spots with new power boxes; restroom and shower facilities and a new parking area.
The public is invited to attend.
