“Movies Under the Stars” is back!
Join us on Friday, Oct. 21 for the Halloween classic “Hocus Pocus” at River Bluff Park in Moss Bluff.
In this movie, three witches (Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy), who were executed in Salem 300 years ago, vow to reappear on a future Halloween to wreak havoc on the town - and do whatever is necessary to gain immortality. The witches get their chance on Halloween 1993 when they’re accidentally brought back to life and turn their wrath on trick-or-treaters in order to gain immortal life before sunrise. It's up to a teenager, his girlfriend, his kid sister - and a 300-year-old cat - to save the day.
The movie will start at 6 p.m. Be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and food, but there will be vendors present at every movie. Also, free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at the event.
Movie-goers are also invited to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes to each movie.
The movie be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. The cancellation will be announced before the event on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieuparish.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
