“Movies Under the Stars” will return for one night only -- Friday, Nov. 18 -- with a special presentation of “Air Bud.”
This event is to make up for the Movies Under the Stars on Sept. 30 that was canceled.
In this 1997 sports comedy, Josh Framm (Kevin Zegers) and his family have relocated to Washington after the death of his father. After school, while Josh practices basketball by himself behind an abandoned church, he meets a runaway Golden Retriever with an amazing talent – he can play basketball. Josh names him Buddy and decides to take him home. After a series of challenges and obstacles, Buddy winds up saving the day.
The movie will begin at 6:30 p.m. River Bluff Park, 543 Theriot Road, in Moss Bluff.
Also at the event, Calcasieu Parish Animal Services will have several dogs there who are available for adoption and ready to meet their new families.
Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and food, but vendors will be present. Also, free popcorn and cotton candy will be served.
The event will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. The cancelation will be announced on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieu.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
