The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury is decking the halls in preparation for the “Christmas at the Courthouse” celebration, a free event that will take place from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 3, at the Historic Calcasieu Courthouse, 1000 Ryan St., Lake Charles.
Santa and Mrs. Claus, along with The Grinch, Cindy Lou Who, Elves, Elf on the Shelf, Sugar Plum Fairy, Toy Soldiers, and Scrooge, will be on site to spread Christmas cheer and to pose for photos with residents of all ages.
After the lights are turned on at 5:30 p.m., the classic Christmas movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) will be shown.
There will be free popcorn, cotton candy, candy canes, soft drinks and hot chocolate served at the event.
The event will be canceled in the event of inclement weather. The cancelation will be announced in the media, as well as on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieu.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages.
