Get ready to carve out some Halloween excitement in October at “Movies Under the Stars.”
On Friday, Oct. 6, get ready for “Scoob." In this 2020 computer-animated comedy, the one-and-only Scooby-Doo (voiced by Frank Welker) and his pals Shaggy (Will Forte), Velma (Gina Rodriguez), Fred (Zac Efron) and Daphne (Amanda Seyfried) face their most challenging mystery ever -- a plot to unleash the ghost dog, Cerberus, into the world. As they race to prevent this, the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and purpose that is greater than anyone imagined. (Rated PG). This movie will be shown at Prien Lake Park, 3700 Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles.
Movies will start at 6:30 p.m. Be sure to get there early to get the best spots. Residents are encouraged to bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and food. Free popcorn and cotton candy will be served at each event.
Movie-goers are also invited to wear family-friendly Halloween costumes to each movie.
Movies will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced before the event on the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s website at calcasieu.gov and on CPPJ’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
