All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed Tuesday, Feb. 13, for Mardi Gras. Offices will reopen on Wednesday, Feb. 14.
Garbage and trash pickup will run as normally scheduled for Waste Management customers. Call Waste Management at 337-436-7229 with any questions concerning the pickup schedule or visit wm.com/alerts for updates.
The Residential Solid Waste Convenience Centers in Lake Charles and Sulphur will be closed – both sites are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays each week. The sites will reopen on Thursday, Feb. 15.
A reminder that “The Zone,” a family-friendly, alcohol-and-tobacco-free area targeted for families with children and teens, will be open on Mardi Gras from 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on the parade route - in the empty parking lot between the Charleston Building and the Parish Courthouse on Ryan Street.
There will be a live DJ, laser tag, an obstacle course, a bounce house, train rides, a game truck, hot dogs, popcorn, snow cones and soft drinks. The event is free to the public.
