Calcasieu Parish Animal Services and thousands of animal welfare organizations across the United States and around the world are teaming up for North Shore Animal League America's Pet Adoptathon 2011.
This event was developed to unite pet-loving adopters with homeless animals that are in need of permanent, loving homes. Pet Adoptathon begins at 9am on Saturday, April 30th and lasts until 3pm. It aims to link thousands of dogs, cats, puppies and kittens with good loving adopters.
In addition to having adoptable shelter, dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, the event will also have 2 for 1 cats and free dogs over 3 years old.
A dog trainer will be on site to offer helpful obedience tips and Animal Services is proud to unveil it's new dog park for potential pets and adopters. Refreshments will be available and local vendors such as Stellar Beans, BF Cosmetics, L'Auberge du Lac Casino Resort and Dominoes Pizza will have special giveaways for new adopters.
