Chief Building Official, David Thibodeaux, is Chosen for a State Subcommittee

The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury’s Chief Building Official, David Thibodeaux, will serve on a special subcommittee for the Louisiana State Uniform Construction Code Council (LSUCCC). This subcommittee will review International Residential Code’s and recommend to the LSUCCC which ones apply to local government.

The International Residential Codes are a set of building codes that, until Rita, were optional for local government to adopt. Since the storm, parishes are required to adopt the codes that apply to their area. The LSUCCC was set up to submit which 2009 building codes they recommend to the Louisiana Legislature.
