If you're a resident of the parish's unincorporated areas and need a construction, electrical or mechanical permit, the place to go is the the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Division of Planning and Development’s temporary permit office at Prien Lake Park.

All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed on Thursday, Dec. 31, for New Year’s Eve, and Friday, Jan. 1, for New Year’s Day.

Parish Gives Debris Removal Update, Announces Holiday Schedule
As of Nov. 23, Calcasieu Parish’s debris contractor, Crowder Gulf, is 74 days into debris pickup efforts. The company has about 220 trucks out daily, removing debris from the 1,200 miles of parish roads.

The last plan update was completed in 2015, and there have been many efforts to reduce the flood and wind risks in the Parish.
