- Yes, if you want to continue to receive CalcaShout and S.N.A.P. Alerts, you will need to register. This allows us to update your data and keep it secure.
- Visit www.CalcaShout.com Then click on the Sign Up button on the top menu “. You will be sent to the page where you may register for CalcaShout and S.N.A.P. If you need assistance with signing up to these Alert you may contact or staff at ohsep@cppj.net or call (337) 721-3800.
- You will need to pick a different user name.
- You will need to create a profile. Usernames, passwords, and security questions are case sensitive. Follow the instructions for creating the profile.
- Click on “the forgot password/username” and answer the user selected question (Grandmothers Maiden Name etc). Passwords are not monitored, so they cannot be retrieved by staff.
- No, but because the system allows users to select multiple devices, (phone, text, email, pager), by acknowledging receipt of the message, the system will know to stop sending consecutive messages to the other registered devices.
- If you are unable to retrieve your password, you will have to create a new user profile, using a new user name. The system already recognizes your user name and because you cannot remember your password/question, you are not able to access the system. Therefore, a new user name must be selected.
- Yes. Each alert network sends messages to the registered user. The alerting systems are not linked.
- The system is only as good as the information you provide. If your contact information changes, you can always visit your profile and update your information.
- If you don't create a username and password, you will receive notifications only by the methods that are on file for your Organization.
- Yes, it is a free service.
- This system will be used to notify you about imminent threats to health and safety as well as informational notifications that affect your locations or work environments. Administrators will send notifications regarding severe weather, flooding, gas leaks, police activity and more.
- No. The information that you provide will be used only by the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness for notification purposes. We will not give or sell your contact or location information to any vendor or other organization.
- This service allows you to opt-in to receive notifications via phone calls, text messaging, e-mail and more based on locations you care about. You can choose to receive notifications about events that may affect your home, workplace, family's schools and more.
- You may choose from a menu of different alerts. When you sign up, you will see a blue plus circle. To see all the alert options/preferences, expand the blue plus circle. You may then select one or more of the options by checking the appropriate box. Note: If you check the box, you will be opting in to ALL the alerts.
- Automated Severe Weather Alerts come directly from the National Weather Service via the Everbridge platform and enables you to select the types of weather alerts you wish to receive. It is location based enabling weather alerts to be specific, geographically based, and map driven.
By opting in to this feature, you will receive weather alerts that are geographically based for any location that you have listed in your profile. And you will be able to choose those times when you do not wish to receive these alerts.
Please note that Calcasieu Parish Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness has the ability to override your chosen quiet times. This will ONLY be used in extreme emergencies, for example, a tornado warning. Opting in to the Automated Severe Weather is easy. Just follow these few simple steps.
- Sign in to your CalcaShout and S.N.A.P. Alert Profile.
- Under Severe Weather click the blue plus sign and opt in to the alerts that you want.
- Under Weather and Hazard alerts choose the quiet times that you desire.
- Verify the information is correct and save your profile.
- Yes. Local governments do not sell any data. This information is only used to send the alerts.

- Yes. Just remember that you might receive an emergency notification for your primary address when you are at your secondary address.
