The Calcasieu Emergency Response Training Center (CERTC) provides firefighter training using resources to immerse firefighters in realistic situations resulting in high quality service and excellent fire ratings. Fire ratings are determined by the Property Insurance Association of Louisiana and lower fire ratings will reduce the insurance premiums for Calcasieu Parish taxpayers.

Each year, CERTC coordinates with local fire departments to proved more than 6,000 man hours of training. Emergency responders are also able to earn nationally recognized certifications in fire, rescue and hazmat and the CERTC facility also provides training for industrial clients.
