G. Landry Rd Drainage Project

Public Works replaced an existing 48" pipe with a 72" corrugated metal pipe on G. Landry Rd cross drain to improve stormwater drainage in this area and in preparation for the 2011 Overlay Project. A temporary bypass was built to allow residents access to their property.  The crew removed the existing pipe and set the new pipe to grade.  The area was hydroseeded to reduce erosion. The final product is a wider, safer, more efficient cross drain.

Penton Rd Drainage Project

Public Works replaced a 72 inch cross pipe with an 84 inch pipe under Penton Rd. The size of the crossing and availability of a detour road allowed us to close the road to complete the work safely and in a timely manner. The Special Projects Crew worked with a local gas company to move a gas line stretching across the cross pipe. Even with coordinating with another agency the Special Projects Crew completed the project within 3 days as opposed to 6 days as originally allotted.  An asphalt crew will come and patch the road at a later date.
