The SNAP E&T Program is a free, voluntary initiative for individuals receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. It offers participants the skills, training, and experience needed to secure a job or transition into a higher-paying job if they are already employed. Participation in this program does not impact an individual’s SNAP benefits.

 

 

SNAP Employment and Training

If you receive SNAP benefits, you are eligible to join the SNAP E&T Program and start building your path to a rewarding job. It offers you the skills, training and experience needed to secure a job or even a better one if you’re already employed.  The program is voluntary, free, and does not impact your SNAP benefits.

Eligibility Requirements

Are you and of the following:

  • Receiving SNAP benefits or being listed as an adult in the same household during the month someone enrolls in the SNAP E & T program?
  • Not receiving FITAP cash assistance or participating in the STEP program?
  • Capable of working upon program completion?

 If you answered yes to all the above, you are likely eligible to participate in the SNAP E&T Program.

 SNAP E & T Services

  • Receiving an individualized job plan
  • Getting job search training, including resume writing and career development
  • Learning Job retention skills and support
  • Receiving work readiness training
  • Enhancing fundamental skills.

  • Transportation costs
  • Childcare expenses
  • Background checks
  • Certifications
  • Course registration fees
  • Permanent documents
  • Training materials
  • Uniforms
  • Work and training tools
